What is the California Medicine Scholars Program?
The California Medicine Scholars Program (CMSP) is a statewide pathway program that taps into the strength of California Community Colleges to support students and meet California's physician workforce needs.
Funded by the Foundation for California Community Colleges, four University of California institutions – UC San Diego School of Medicine, UC Davis School of Medicine, UC Riverside School of Medicine and UCSF Fresno – have established regional hubs of health care opportunity (RHHO) with their local community colleges, four-year universities and health care institutions to expand premedical opportunities for community college students in their respective regions.
San Diego’s RHHO, the Region X California Medicine Scholars Program, is housed at UC San Diego School of Medicine and will serve community college students throughout San Diego and Imperial Counties.
